We started the day with normal golf croquet on the decorated Australia Day lawns and clubhouse.

Gerard as usual leading the way with his outfit but having some close contenders. We continued playing croquet for whoever wished whilst our caterers were putting together a beautiful Australian style bbq lunch. Lamb burgers leading the way with very tasty salads, damper, followed by delicious pavlovas and lamingtons, what a feast.

Thank you to everyone involved in creating our feast.

Our members showed besides being good at croquet they can “toss a thong or two or a ‘flat’ rugby ball” in a variety of styles. Our winner and the proud owner now of the thongs is our Betty James, very competent in her style. The best dressed Australian was Gerard Manning and our lucky door prize was won by Barbara Northcott.

Thankyou again to everyone involved in our day in either setting up, tidying up, organizing, donating or just coming and having a good time.
